Indian Embassy New building started operation

The new Chancery building of the Embassy of India, Tokyo was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister for External Affairs Shri S. M. Krishna on 4 July, 2009 in the presence of a large number of Japanese dignitaries and members of the Indian community.

Congratulatory messages were received from Dr. Manmohan Singh,Prime Minister of India, Mr. Yoshiro Mori, Chairman, Japan-India Association and former Prime Minister and Mr. Taro Nakayama, President, Japan-India Parliamentary Friendship League. Minister for External Affairs delivered the inaugural speech.

A photo exhibition on the Tokyo Construction Project was launched on the occasion. It included a scale model of the Embassy of India in Tokyo as well as photographs of other buildings of the Government of India, including the Embassy Residence, which were reconstructed or renovated as part of the project.
